Premium Leather roughing tool is a complete upgrade from our standard version, from the handle to the grooves.  This premium roughing tool is made out of 3CR13 stainless steel, heat treated to HRC52~54 for increased longevity.  Deep filing grooves can take on any roughing task effortlessly. Cocobolo handle with brass accent really brings out the unique character and aesthetic. Brass brush is recommended for cleaning the tip of this tool.

A fine tool

The tool is well made and allows me to rough up edges before gluing.
Handle feels good in my hand and makes it easy to control. Very satisfied with this item.

Great, except...

Generally like it. Well made and beautiful; definitely built to last. One little problem though if you are left-handed: it will try too steer out of the cut. Not that big of a deal since most of us leftys are used to adjusting, just be sure to try it out and get a feel for it before using on a valuable piece. I would still buy again.
